Referendum - 23rd October 2025 - Result
Tisbury and West Tisbury residents have voted in favour of adopting the joint Neighbourhood Plan following a Referendum held on Thursday 23rd October 2025. 

The question 'Do you want Wiltshire Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Tisbury and West Tisbury to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?'

The results were finalised at 07:12 on Friday 24 October 2025 as follows:
486 (95.48%) people voted YES, with 23 (4.52%) voting NO.

The result means the Tisbury and West Tisbury Neighbourhood Plan (TisPlan2) will now be formally adopted and then will carry legal weight when future planning applications are considered and decided on together with Wiltshire Council’s Local Plan.

The Parish Councils of Tisbury and West Tisbury have developed an update to the Neighbourhood Plan that will help to shape planning decisions to better reflect local priorities until 2038.
  • The Neighbourhood Plan reflects the views of local people about planning issues in Tisbury and West Tisbury.   
  • It defines areas where development will and will not be acceptable to us.  
  • It informs design, and helps to protect the environment and support jobs, whilst protecting the character and landscape of this community in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
  • And it will be part of Wiltshire's Statutory Development Plan Framework sitting alongside the Wiltshire Core Strategy and Government policy to control local development until 2038.
