The Drop-in Consultations were held on the afternoon of Saturday 05 July 2014 in the Victoria Hall, and at Tisbury Carnival on Saturday 26 September 2014. They were both very successful. Most of those attending the first consultation were over forty years of age. We chose the venue for the second consultation so we could concentrate on the younger members of the community, including children and their parents. For the first consultation, there was a notice board each on the following topics: industry and employment, housing, education and training, retail, environment and transport, leisure and tourism. For each board topic, there were the same four questions:
People were asked to make comments using sticky notes applied to the boards. For the second consultation, people were asked four more general questions:
The results have been analysed and further investigations into specific needs of particular groups of people are being undertaken; for example, out-of-hours transport for secondary schoolchildren wishing to attend social events and school clubs. All this information was used to develop the questionnaire which was delivered to every household in the parishes so everyone could give their views on the future of the local area. |
